It begins when plaque, a sticky film of bacteria,... moreToothaches can be troublesome for many as they leave you feeling in pain, uneasy, and frustrated. Toothaches can also prevent you from consuming your favorite foods as you’ll have difficulty chewing. Furthermore, some toothaches are so extreme that you might not even be able to speak.
However, the following are some home remedies you can apply to reduce the pain from your toothache.
Also used as a disinfectant, hydrogen peroxide rinses can help you get rid of dental plaque and bacteria while reducing inflammation as well.
Using a cold compress is best effective when your teeth have experienced some trauma. This is because they constrict the blood vessels, which help in easing the pain.
Known to be a pain reliever, garlic is highly used for its medical properties. It can help get rid of any bacteria or plaque that’s been hoarding on your gums.
Little known fact, but vanilla extracts are known to consist of alcohol that helps numb any pain. In addition, they are known to be the best antioxidants. Pour a little on your finger and apply to the affected area.
Cloves are considered to be antiseptics that can heal any inflammations. They contain oil which can further reduce the pain and provide soothing relief.
Saltwater can be beneficial for your toothache as it acts as a natural disinfectant that can help you get rid of food particles stuck between your teeth, causing you pain. Rinsing with salt water can also help reduce or completely get rid of inflammation (if you have any).
This remedy comes in handy when you have highly sensitive gums and need to numb the pain. Ensure the tea bag has cooled down but not too much (they should be slightly warm), and apply them to the affected area.
